If you fancy a bit of a ‘WOW’ in your life then head to Dubai for your next holiday. Here you will find a choice of first class hotels with excellent service, world renowned restaurants and superb attractions to be enjoyed.
It’s one of my favourite destinations to visit as a stopover for 2-3 nights, or to spend a week’s holiday sightseeing and relaxing. Where else can you find the world’s tallest building, a 7-star hotel, the desert, water parks and traditional souks? Oh yes and a Ski slope?. Here are my 5 best things to do in Dubai:
The Burj Khalifa
Currently the world’s tallest building at over 828 metres, you will get neck ache looking up at it. To put its height into perspective it is more than eight times the height of the Big Ben tower in London…take a trip up to the observation deck for amazing views over Dubai. Find more exciting facts about the Burj Khalifa here.
The Desert
Take an exhilarating trip to the untouched desert where you can travel over the sand dunes in a 4×4. You can take an organised trip which includes the 4×4 experience, camel ride, and an evening BBQ in the desert under the stars. Although it’s only a short drive into the desert you really will feel like you are a thousand miles away from anything.
Skiing in the desert?
Oh yes, it’s possible in Dubai you can go from 40 degrees outside to snow inside within a matter of minutes. Within the impressive Mall of the Emirates, is Ski Dubai. It’s an indoor ski resort which can been viewed by shoppers within the mall. For beginners there are lessons, or for pros just hire the equipment and off you go!
Burj Al Arab
This hotel is proud to call itself the only 7 star hotel in the world. The hotel was built to represent the traditional sails of the abras and has become such an iconic image of Dubai. The interior of the hotel is adorned with gold and it has the biggest aquarium in a hotel I have ever seen. You can get the ultimate ‘selfie’ of the Burj from the beach just in front of the hotel! Find out more about this hotel here.
Shopping
Dubai offers a great choice of traditional souks to the latest designs straight from the catwalk. Head to Dubai Creek for an abra ride, through Dubai’s oldest area, here you can visit the spice souk and look for a little souvenir to take back. Alternatively visit Dubai Mall which is one of the biggest malls in UAE, it’s literally massive and has hundreds and hundreds of retail outlets it also includes an aquarium, an ice rink and a dinosaurs skeleton! You must head outside of the mall to see the incredible fountain show, best in the evenings when it’s combined with a fantastic light show.
Above is only a snapshot of the wonderful things to do in Dubai. Book your holiday to Dubai now, you certainly will have more than a few ‘WOWs’ during your time there!!
